Oh shiz.. I was supposed to LOSE weight. Well I'm just glad I didn't gain more than that.
However, my trainer dude Isaiah once told me that a food journal is the best way to be accountable for what you're taking in each day. Now, we all know I'm the worst at being consistent with such things. If you don't know that about me, you'll figure it out by following this blog. This seems to be my problem, I do something for a while and do it 100%, then get "bored' and move on to something else. "The next new idea that will be different than the last."
Anywho,
Here's my food journal:

Home made French Dip..
And Cheesy Bread from Two Jacks
Not to mention the frozen yogurt topped with oreo's and caramel I just ate.
I've got to get in gear. All of this working out is WORTHLESS if I'm not willing to at least be a little bit better about WHAT and HOW MUCH I am eating.
Maybe I better get serious about the food journal again? What do you think?
Please tell me if you've tried the food journal or anything like that before.. I'm interested to see what works for you guys with your eating habits.
I also have an app on my phone that can track daily intake and calories. It also tracks your workout too. I just am ridiculous and don't use it. Fully knowing, it will help.
This is me.
Peace.
A food journal works wonders girl! Also, use that app...it is AMAZING!! When I lost that weight last summer, I was using that app. It helps so much! You have inspired me! I love this blog. Such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteYou should totally use that app on your phone! That sounds pretty cool and umm I am guilty of not eating good either. Those cheese sticks are the best ever!! I could eat a whole order my self. Keep trying, you can totally do this!!
ReplyDeleteSo I am currently using a food journal. In fact, at the office store, the sell little books that are made for just that! Here is what I have found:
ReplyDelete1: I am having a hard time being consistent. However, even if I don't log one day, I reboot every morning and try again. It will become habit over time.
2: It really does help me!! For the days I didn't log and kind of ate what I wanted, I would think back and I couldn't tell you what I ate that day. That feeling made me anxious. I am keeping track of calories and learning to LOVE that habit, so keeping a food log is imperative.
3: As I continue to study for my personal training cert. everything I read keep saying, the ONLY way to lose weight is to burn more than you take in. Simple has that!!! All those lame diets are good for nothing. Simply, consume less calories than you burn and you will lose. This keeps me motivated.
4: In a magazine I just read, Carrie Underwood gave credit to keeping a food journal as a big reason to why she lost weight. Now, if that is not motivation enough, I am not sure what is. :)
Much Love!!!
Yeah, Sam is using his exercise and food dairy track app on his phone as well as I do just to have fun to play with it. It is amazing to see how much calories we burn through what we do all day and how many calories we eat. He totally loves it and it sure helps him. He lost 9 pounds in less 2 weeks!! I m telling you his track app is helping! You should try it for a month!
